"Everybody's Number One!"

That is what the West County Journal proclaimed the 2007 CBC Varsity Football Cadets in this article. What does it mean to be Everybody's Number One? In the simplest terms, it means CBC is THE TEAM everybody wants to beat.

What else is the West County Journal saying about our Cadets? Read on....

-At 5-foot-10, 195 pounds, Simmons is bigger, stronger and faster and is St. Louis' leading returning rusher.

-The Cadets offensive line is big, talented, and experienced. Seniors Matt Happe (6-2, 225), Adam Ryan (6-2, 235) and Tim Massey (5-11, 250) will line up at center, left tackle, and right tackle, respectively. Senior Ryan Jenkins (6-2, 270) is in at right guard and the left guard position is still up for grabs.

-At quarterback will be either senior Steve Batliner (5-11, 170) or senior Jack Swoboda (5-9, 160). Batliner looks to be a little bit better of a thrower, while Swoboda is the better scrambler. The two of them have combined for two pass attempts last season.

-At wide receiver, senior Kyle Martin (6-0, 160) returns. Martin should be a top threat, as he caught 25 passes last year for 478 yards and four touchdowns last season. Another wide out will be senior Ben Warning (5-9, 175). At tight end will be senior Zach Schmitz (6-0, 205) with junior Steve Coleman (6-2, 230) also splitting time.

-At fullback, sophomore Derek Rallo (5-10, 205) has been called into action.

-Keying the defense will be Swoboda in the secondary and senior linebacker Zach Schmitz (6-0, 205).

-Jenkins, Ryan and Massey will be key figures on defensive front.

-Figuring in with the linebackers and defensive backs are Martin, Warning, Swoboda and senior Kelvin Haywood (6-0, 160).

-At kicker is strong-legged sophomore Cody Barklage and punting will be Coleman.

-Look for Simmons, Swoboda, Martin, and Haywood to return kicks.

Great Press Cadets! Now Show 'em What You're Made Of!!!
