There's No Stopping Us Now!

Its official...
The 2007 CBC Varsity Football season has been KICKED-OFF!!

Last Saturday evening the parents and coaches of the Varsity CBC Cadets got together to hammer out the final details of what promises to be the most spirit-filled season to date. The parents' season kick-off party was held at the beautiful home of Paul and Beth Schmitz who are the parents of senior cadet Zach Schmitz. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by great food and refreshing libations which seemed to be enjoyed by all in attendance. Surely all who attended would concur with the assessment that our hosts the Schmitz's not only provided a beautiful venue for our party, but one that was warm, welcoming, and completely inviting. Many thanks to the Schmitz's for so graciously sharing their home with us. Also, a big round of applause to all the Moms who provided such a wonderful spread of creative, imaginative, and palate satisfying appetizers and desserts!

Cadet Spirit personified, a.k.a. Ann Luberda provided an excitement filled overview of the plans the Cadet Spirit Planning Committee has developed to date for the upcoming season and encouraged everyone to become involved. Information regarding the events and activities planned for the season (i.e. Thursday Team Dinners, Friday Pre-game Meals, Tailgates, etc.) as well as the planned budget and contributions necessary to offset the costs of these activities was shared with all attendees. All parents of Varsity Cadets who were unable to attend the kick-off party will be sent the letter that was distributed during the party that contains all of the specific information that was shared at the meeting. For reasons of safety, no address information will be placed on the blog, but if you need an address to which to send your contribution, please click on the names of either Kathy Happe or Beth Schmitz in the Cadet Spirit Committee list in the right margin and send them an email requesting their mailing information.

The kick-off party was also a great way for Varsity Cadet parents to simply meet each other and avoid that unpleasant sensation of arriving at the games only to find yourself sitting in the middle of a group of people who are completely unknown to you or worse even, rooting for the opposing team. Throughout the evening, the following comment was voiced over and over again:

"This is great! Now I will at least recognize people from CBC when I get to the games!!"

That was one of the goals of the party; bringing us all together as a united front in support of our Cadets. To that end, and since we only have four home games this season, please look for the CBC parents to be sitting together as a group at all games [both home and away] and know you are INVITED to join us. We will be easily identified by all the pom pons, Moms in "Jersey T-shirts", and at least two Moms [A & S.....as if you didn't know who you are] who tend to be kinda vocal! :)

This Saturday's game against Hazelwood East is especially critical in terms of showing our CBC Spirit and pride as it was the only game we lost last season. Additonally, we are playing on their home turf and if you have never experienced it before, believe me when I say the Hazelwood East fan base is fiercely spirited. So please come out and plan to show your spirited support for our own Cadets as they go out and prove that last year was no fluke!!!!
LET'S GO CADETS!!

(PS - Don't forget to leave a message for the team or a specific Cadet or Coach in the Cadet Message Board to the right!)
